Creating an Abundance Mindset

Do you see the glass half full or half empty? When a challenge appears do you see the opportunity, or do you see the problems? Are you optimistic about the future or fearful of what is to come? I believe everyone can choose to have an abundance mindset instead of having a scarcity mindset. That does not mean that it will come naturally or easily, but studies show that it is in your best interest to embrace and develop an abundance mindset to live longer and be happier.

What is an abundance mindset? An abundance mentality is one that’s based on the belief that there is more than enough for everyone. The definition of abundance is an extremely plentiful or over sufficient quantity or supply. This thinking is shaped by changing the way we see the world and the circumstances presented to us. Some of the emotions associated with an abundance mindset is love, faith, integrity, growth, and collaboration.

Surround yourself with people that have an abundance mindset. Mindsets and attitudes rub off from those closest around you. Be mindful of the company you keep as your thinking will be greatly shaped by them, so choose wisely.

Have an Attitude of Gratitude. I coach on this subject as much as any with my clients. Simply incorporating the practice of verbalizing and/or writing down what you are grateful for everyday will shape the way you see the world.

There is plenty to go around. Our minds are creative, and we need to train our minds to know there is more than enough for everyone. This may take some serious repetitions to become a habit but well worth saying repeatedly.

Look for opportunities. In every situation there are opportunities or there are challenges. Choose to see the opportunities as abundance mindset examples. By simply reminding ourselves that if there is an opportunity, good things start to appear. The challenges will seem less daunting.

Tony Robbins is the epitome of what abundance mindset exercises can create for the mind. He has helped millions of people embrace this mentality and created an amazing life for himself as well. I think he said it best when he stated, “When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears”. We have complete control over our attitude, how was yours today?
